Position Title: Phlebotomist II Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL Duration: 3+ Months Work Arrangement: Onsite Position Summary The Phlebotomist II will be responsible for performing blood draws, specimen collection, and supporting laboratory operations in a fast-paced environment. This role also includes troubleshooting, training support, and workflow improvement recommendations. Key Responsibilities Perform venipuncture using straight needles and butterfly needles Collect, label, centrifuge, split, and store specimens as per protocol Ensure accurate matching of laboratory requisitions with specimen tubes Explain specimen collection procedures clearly and professionally to patients Package and prepare specimens for transport while maintaining integrity Store specimens under appropriate conditions and temperatures Update patient information and maintain accurate records Perform equipment maintenance, decontamination, and record logs Follow all OSHA and DEP regulations Assist with troubleshooting and workflow recommendations Handle incoming calls and respond to laboratory-related inquiries Attend required training sessions Qualifications & Experience Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: 2-4 years of experience preferred Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting Certifications: Valid Phlebotomy certification (as required by state) Position is offered by a no fee agency.
