Summary of Job Duties:The Director of Human Resources works under the direction of the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration. The Director manages all aspects of the College's Human Resources. Duties are performed in cooperation with all areas of the College and in accordance with the plans and policies of the College.

General Tasks
*Oversees all Human Resources functions and staff.
*Coach and support administrators in navigating performance evaluations, discipline, termination, and other HR issues.
*Interprets policy and procedural matters and assists other administrators in communicating them to the faculty and staff.
*Maintains and updates the policy manual per Cabinet guidance.
*Assists supervisors with the interview/hire process in Workday.
*Develops, implements, and provides various types of training and professional development to staff.
*Develops and implements new employee orientation and exit processes.
*Maintains benefits records for all benefit eligible employees and retirees.
*Manages FMLA, ADA, EEOC requests ensuring, federal and state compliance.
*Works cooperatively with UA System Benefits Department and the Department of Higher Education concerning personnel issues.
*Serves as Title IX Deputy for employees.
*Serves as FOIA Officer, (Freedom of Information Act) and Grievance Officer.
*Serves as Workday HCM lead representing UAHT in personnel management, benefits, and recruiting.
*Prepares legislative personnel requests, other state reporting and assisting with budgeting as needed.
*Represents the College at various meetings and activities.
*Maintains and advances job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities.
*Plans and conducts employee benefit events and manages Benefits Open Enrollment.
*Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resource or other related fields from accredited institution, plus three years' experience in human resources. Preferred human resource experience within higher education.

Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the minimum qualifications upon approval of the Chancellor.

Preferred

* Master's degree in business, personnel management, or related field

* Five (5) years of practical work experience in the area of human resource and benefits management

Able to problem solve, organize, and prioritize work, multi-task, and be flexible and accepting of change.

Able to work independently and cooperatively with a team to achieve the goal while following the strategic plan.

Able to work effectively and cooperatively with people of various cultural backgrounds.
