The Master's Level Intern supports analytical, operational, project based, and research activities across assigned divisions at Children's Hospital Colorado. The role provides hands on exposure to organizational workflows, systems, data, and strategic initiatives, offering master's students practical experience in a complex healthcare environment.
When assigned to the Finance division, the master's Level Intern will gain exposure to treasury operations, investment management, financial systems, and capital structure initiatives that support the organization's fiscal health and long-term financial strategy. This includes analytical work supporting liquidity management, investment reporting, financial analysis, and financial documentation used in organizational decision making and external financial activities.

Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Supports departmental and cross-functional projects, including planning, documentation, data gathering, task coordination, and follow-up on action items.
2. Assists with preparing presentations and executive-ready materials, including workflow documentation, summaries, reports, and visual aids.
3. Collects, validates, and analyzes data relevant to the assigned area, and supports development of metrics, dashboards, and standardized reporting tools.
4. Conducts research, benchmarking, literature reviews, and environmental scans to inform program, operational, or departmental decision-making.
5. Documents and improves workflows, procedures, and internal controls, identifying opportunities for process optimization.
6. Supports regulatory, compliance, accreditation, or policy-related documentation when applicable to the department.
7. Coordinates logistics, stakeholder communications, scheduling, and meeting preparation to support smooth project execution.
8. Assists with systems-related tasks, including data integrity checks, testing, system updates, and documentation of system behaviors or changes.
9. Supports troubleshooting and creation of user-oriented resources, such as guides, process maps, reference materials, or orientation content.
10. Collaborates effectively with interdisciplinary teams and prepares clear, concise written communications and status updates while upholding CHCO service standards, communication expectations, and confidentiality requirements.
When placed within the Finance department, the intern may also perform the following finance-specific duties:
i. Support treasury activities, including preparation and analysis of cash balances, liquidity metrics, banking activity, and investment activity documentation.
ii. Assist with investment performance reporting, asset allocation summaries, benchmarking, and compilation of analytical schedules used by Finance leadership and external partners.
iii. Support debt compliance and capital structure initiatives, including gathering and reviewing documentation for covenant monitoring, continuing disclosure reporting, and financing transactions (e.g., debt issuance).
iv. Contribute to financial systems documentation, including mapping financial data flows, validating system outputs, assisting with reconciliation activities, and supporting system testing efforts.
v. Prepare analytical materials and exhibits for internal Finance leadership, investment consultants, rating agencies, or banking partners, as directed.

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Hourly Range: $21.14 to $31.72
