Supervises staff involved in providing clinical patient care. Assists in ensuring the quality of patient care delivery in a specific patient care area and serves as a role model for professional nursing practice. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources. May assume full responsibility for the unit in delegated areas and in the absence of the manager. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $221,500 - $241,800 (Annual Rate).
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical nursing supervisory experienceDemonstrated ability to supervise clinicians and manage complex patient care unit workflows and prioritiesIn-depth knowledge of patient care clinical standards, care delivery systems, regulations, and internal policiesStrong knowledge of human resources management policies including training, monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of employee performanceAbility to provide input to leadership on human resources mattersStrong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess problems and implement effective solutionsStrong interpersonal skills for collaboration and problem solving with staff, management, consultants, and external agenciesStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to train and mentor staff and present reports, documentation, and proposalsKnowledge of business software and specialized nursing unit data management systemsKnowledge of regulatory requirements, patient safety standards, and quality improvement principlesBachelor's Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications Correctional nursing experience.Experience working in an unionized environment.Experience using EPIC EMR systemsMaster's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field About UCSF
