ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Quality Control Tech - Intern, you are responsible to safely collect samples of crushed stone, aggregate, sand or gravel and test concrete for conformance to specifications. Assist with adjustments to mix designs at job sites - Represent KRC Quality specifications to our customers. Conduct MNDOT & NDOT testing and perform quality assurance testing with our customers.

Typical schedule is Monday - Friday with Saturday as needed.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)



  1. Develop and maintain customer relations.
  2. Meet with customers to investigate material issues and resolutions.
  3. Visit job sites to maintain customer relations and project quality and troubleshoot quality concerns.
  4. Collect material samples, identify material, and compile statistical data on test results.
  5. Examine and evaluate data - determine material quality in relation to specifications.
  6. Maintain all required MN DOT and ACI certifications and maintain close relationships with MN DOT personnel and outside testing agencies.
  7. Conduct finished and in-process inspections.
  8. Perform concrete trial batches.
  9. Remain current in knowledge of concrete quality specifications.
  10. Call on customer warranty issues
  11. Safely and properly perform laboratory tests on variety of materials (Aggregate and or/Concrete)
  12. Perform arithmetic operations and record findings and needed actions.
  13. Maintain lab. equipment and vehicle.
  14. Perform daily housekeeping.
  15. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
  16. Communicate test results to appropriate stakeholders.
  17. Ensure work activities comply with OSHA, EPA, Safety and Environmental regulations.
  18. Travel is required.
  19. Performs other duties assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

You must be actively enrolled in university/college with a focus in one of the following majors or closely related:



  1. Construction Management/Materials Management/Project Manager
  2. Maintenance
  3. Engineering/Estimating
  4. Manufacturing
  5. Environmental
  6. Ability to provide and maintain proper driving licensure and acceptable driving record.


COMPENSATION:

$20.00 - $25.00 depending on experience.
