Jobs in this group are typically responsible for managing and maintaining the university's physical infrastructure and engineering systems. They handle construction, maintenance, and technical operations to ensure facilities and systems are functional, safe, and aligned with the university's needs.
These roles are responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of construction projects on grounds. Staff manage project development, coordinate with contractors, ensure adherence to plans and budgets, and supervise construction activities to meet the university's growth and renovation goals. Represents people leaders (hire/fire authority) with majority of time spent overseeing their area of responsibility. Achieve goals through direct and/or indirect reports. Manages/Supervises professional level employees within a Job Area. Focuses on tactical and operational plans and strategy with short to mid-term focus. Develops solutions to moderately complex problems, and may escalate more complex issues to higher level management. Ensures that staff is utilized efficiently and daily work projects are completed on time and within budget. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering, construction or related field. Additional industry specific experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience: Seven years experience in project or construction management, including demonstrated experience leading formal or informal teams. Licensure: None. Registered Professional Architect or Engineer preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position is primarily office-based but requires occasional travel to on-site locations, which may involve walking, climbing stairs, or navigating uneven terrain. The role may occasionally require lifting materials up to 20 pounds and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The starting base rate for this role is $77,949.00 annually.
