WORK ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

The Waukesha County Circuit Court is seeking one full-time Circuit Court Commissioner. The place of employment is the Waukesha County Courthouse. This position is an employee of Waukesha County, appointed by the Chief Judge and supervised by the Presiding Judge. The position requires presiding over all types of hearings handled by court commissioners pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes, 757.68.

This is a challenging professional position for an individual who possesses a thorough knowledge and understanding of circuit court legal proceedings; extensive knowledge of pertinent judicial procedures; skill in analyzing and appraising facts, evidence and applying legal principles; the capacity to manage full caseloads under time pressures; and, the ability to work effectively and harmoniously with judges, staff, attorneys, litigants, and the general public.

Salary range for a full-time position starts at $107,848 plus benefits. The anticipated start date is approximately June 22, 2026.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements
1. Licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin.
2. Three (3) years of work experience as a practicing attorney, with varied experience in civil, criminal, and family law preferred.
