Candidate Qualities

Job Description The Bethlehem Campus Science Resource Center (SRC) is hiring peer tutors. Peer tutors provide learning assistance to other students in one-on-one sessions or in small groups. Peer tutors also keep accurate records, attend staff meetings and other training meetings, and participate in creating a welcoming environment in the Science Resource Center. Tutors will be provided College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) training and have the opportunity to be certified as a CRLA level I tutor. The SRC also provides opportunities for peer tutors to learn and grow their communication, tutoring, and other professional skills. Tutors may apply to tutor in any Chemistry or Biology class, including Anatomy & Physiology I (BIOS 204 ) or General Chemistry I (CHEM 120).

Qualifications:

Peer tutors need:

* a B or better in the course(s) for which they tutor

* enthusiasm for learning and an interest in working one on one with other students to achieve their goals * two faculty references Job Outline

* Attend required New Tutor Training Seminar when hired

* Complete any necessary HR trainings assigned in Workday

* Work with hiring manager on creating a tutoring schedule within the Science

Resource Center's hours Pay/Hours $13.52 per hour, no more than 15 hours per week Hours

Funding Source Federal Work Study and/or Institutional Funds

Semester(s) Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2026 (if applicable)
