Job Summary

The Program Associate, reporting to the Director of Musical Theater, will ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the 92NY Musical Theater programs. This role functions as a key liaison to parents and students and will be responsible for the communication of information covering all aspects of the Musical Theater department.



Job Responsibilities Include

    Communicate with students and families about class registrations, auditions, scholarship application enrollment, student performances, concerts, and other special events.
  • Organize and assist with costuming for end of semester student productions and TYA productions.
  • Create and update schedules and rosters for classes, track registrations, coordinate follow-up registrations, monitor and follow up on missed class attendance.
  • Assist with season load, web review and work with marketing on promotional materials.
  • Up to 15 hours of teaching, as assigned by the Director of Musical Theater.
  • Generate and submit room set-up requests for all Musical Theater programs.
  • Prepare classrooms and teacher support tools (nametags, scripts, attendance, flyers).
  • Assist in welcoming and dismissing students from classes.
  • Ensure all space is booked appropriately in resource scheduling system.
  • Responsible for daily administration tasks including processing of invoices, maintaining of school and office supplies and submission of maintenance requests.
  • May be assigned other tasks and duties reasonably related to their job responsibilities.


Experience, Education, & Skills Desired

  • Bachelors Degree in the Arts, Education or related field.
  • 2+ years' experience working in a high-profile dance, theater or creative arts organization.
  • A demonstrable passion for musical theater combined with at least 2 years of related dance and music class instructions.
  • Knowledge of different kinds of art and educational issues, resources, and the New York City school system.
  • Ability to teach musical theater production, dance and acting classes to students between the ages of 4 to 18.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point and Access) with previous Tessitura experience a plus.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and execute responsibilities in the face of conflicting priorities or unexpected situations.


Work Environment & Requirements

Work Hours and Environment

40 hours/week. Monday through Friday, 10am-7pm some flexibility may be required.

Additional teaching hours will be required during the summer camp season.

Compensation Range

$55,000 - $60,000

The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
