*Description*
We are seeking a highly experienced PMO Lead to drive a complex, enterprise-wide initiative focused on mandatory AI training and capability building across a global pharmaceutical customer. This leader will bring structure, governance, and execution excellence to a multi-workstream, seniorvisibility program with significant organizational impact. The ideal candidate will have the following strengths -deep transformation experience, executive presence, strategic clarity-combined with the ability to operate hands-on in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment. *Top Three Critical Skills (What We MUST Have)* 1. EnterpriseGrade PMO Leadership & Governance Design A proven operator who can immediately establish governance, decision pathways, operating rhythms, reporting infrastructure, and cross-functional alignment. Able to build or refine PMO tools, dashboards, risk logs, RAID trackers, and executive reporting. Capable of orchestrating highly interdependent workstreams across HR, Talent, Digital/IT, Comms, and business units. 2. Advanced Stakeholder Orchestration & Executive Credibility Experience working directly with senior executives (VP+, SLT) to drive alignment, resolve friction points, and secure decisions quickly. Exceptional communicator who can synthesize complexity into crisp, actionable updates. Adept at influencing without authority in a matrix. 3. HandsOn Program Execution in a Transformation Environment Able to operate at two levels: Strategic altitude (governance, sequencing, integration, planning) Hands-on execution (resolving blockers, creating decks, coordinating workstreams, building the PMO backbone) Experience with AI, digital transformation, or capability building is a strong plus. *Primary Responsibilities* Stand up and lead the PMO for the enterprise AI training initiative, ensuring clarity, structure, and momentum from day one. Build and manage governance: steering committees, decision pathways, reporting cadences, escalation mechanisms. Integrate multiple workstreams (technology, talent, learning, change management, communications) into a unified roadmap. Develop and maintain program artifacts: program plan, critical path, RAID log, dashboards, status reports, exec updates. Serve as the central orchestrator across stakeholders-anticipating friction, driving alignment, and enabling timely decisions. Partner with workstream leads to convert high-level concepts into detailed plans, milestones, deliverables, and risks/mitigations. Prepare and deliver executiveready materials including progress updates, risks, recommendations, and strategic decisions required. Quickly assess program gaps and establish operating discipline where needed (structure, cadence, communication channels). Monitor program health, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure disciplined execution under tight timelines. Support ongoing integration with the organization's broader AI strategy, governance, and enterprisewide talent initiatives. What Differentiates This Role Not a task-tracking or administrative PM role - requires judgment, systems thinking, and executive navigation. High visibility with accelerated expectations; success requires moving quickly and establishing high-quality governance. Operates in a gray, evolving environment where the "what" may shift and the "how" must be built in real time. Requires a senior presence, strong problem-solving capabilities, and comfort advising leadership. Experience & Qualifications 10+ years leading complex, multi-workstream programs in enterprise settings. Experience in PMOs, transformation offices, operating model redesign, large-scale change, or capability-building initiatives. Background working with senior executives and cross-functional teams in matrixed environments. Strong strategic planning skills, command of PMO tools, and ability to build structure rapidly. Experience in HR, Talent, Learning & Development, or AI/digital enablement preferred but not required. Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presence. *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $100.00 - $120.00/hr.
