TITLE:

Simulation & Experiential Learning Production Specialist

REPORTING RELATIONSIHP:

Manager, Simulation & Experiential Learning Administration

BASIC FUNCTION:

Coordinate the production, maintenance, and support of American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Simulation and Experiential Learning (SEL) courses and content offerings, including activity setup and production, quality assurance testing, media and asset preparation, e-commerce setup and maintenance, product launch and support, course reporting, and database entry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  1. Build and maintain course sites in the learning management system (LMS) & AAP database), including creating pages, navigational menus, and learning and credit-claiming activities.
  2. Coordinate the setup, delivery, and testing of continuing medical education (CME) and maintenance of certification (MOC)-eligible activities.
  3. Coordinate and manage course production workflows using tools such as Smartsheet, Teams, and SharePoint and document production workflows, policies, and processes for consistency and scalability.
  4. Monitor the course production process and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  5. Integrate SEL projects and courses into the LMS, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  6. Suggest and implement improvements to enhance the SEL online learner experience.
  7. Prepare and format content assets (e.g., videos, media, tables, and images) to meet AAP style, editorial, accessibility, and branding standards.
  8. Perform quality assurance testing for multimedia materials, ensuring functionality and usability.
  9. Manage post-production efforts, including the receipt and integration of vendor-produced videos.
  10. Coordinate components of live activities, such as discussion boards, Q&A sessions, and polling.
  11. Provide real-time technical support during live educational events as assigned.
  12. Update and maintain SEL-related content on AAP educational platforms, websites, and media libraries.
  13. Collaborate with IT staff, LMS vendors, and other stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and maintain system functionality.
  14. In collaboration with SEL Coordinator, manage course records in the LMS for registration and continuing education credit claiming.
  15. Assist with resolving high-level technical customer service inquiries.
  16. Train SEL staff and/or course faculty on tools, platforms, and resources for content delivery.
  17. Collaborate with team members to process educational requests and inquiries efficiently.
  18. Enter or ensure entry of course content into the e-commerce platform as needed.
  19. Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance educational delivery.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, adult education, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required.

EXPERIENCE:

At least two years' related experience in the coordination, development, and support of web-based, educational projects. Experience in adult learning/online education and mobile application support, coordination, and delivery preferred.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, customer service, and oral/written communication skills required. Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, take initiative, pay close attention to detail, work both independently and as part of a team, collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents, and promote and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment with a commitment to fostering a culture where everyone feels valued and respected. Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office, website maintenance software (e.g., SharePoint), databases, knowledge of HTML, and the ability to learn and apply new technologies; experience with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., WebEx, Teams) preferred. Some evening/weekend work and travel required.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $32.53/hr - $34.35/hr. Compensation decisions take into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic location, business needs, and organizational policies. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
