What to Expect
Tesla is hiring a data analyst to manage the reporting suite for the production and demand planning teams. This role will be focused on Tableau reports but also use our internal reporting platform, and it will be responsible for design decisions and new projects on the internal platform along with the planning engineering team. The planning team's reporting covers everything from operational plans for logistics and production, to monitoring sales actuals, to tracking supply-demand and customer delivery timelines.

What You'll Do
  • Use SQL, Tableau, and our internal platform to build clear, powerful, and fast reporting for the planning team and our partners
  • Maintain, refactor, and update existing reports
  • Establish a clear framework of best practices and design principles that planning reports should follow and train the team on these
  • Work with data engineering to optimize SQL queries and Tableau extracts
  • Work with engineering to integrate reporting with other applications so that people can easily access customized reports from the planning web application
  • Gather requirements for new reports or improvements from partner teams

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Data Science or equivalent experience
  • Microsoft SQL Server experience
  • Work exposure to a planning function (finance, business planning, supply chain, etc.)
  • Strong Tableau skills (or comparable visualization software)
  • D3 charts or other open source visualization libraries
  • Good business judgment for creating intuitive displays of data
  • Python or other programming languages
  • Web development experience
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Embrace of change and rapid pace of work

    Expected Compensation
    $76,000 - $144,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
