About the role:

In this role,you'llwork with a cross-disciplinaryteamwriters, producers, audience engagement strategists, research analysts, and investment specialists to take our ideas and information and translate it into dynamic article, video, and audio content.The role requires a person whocantranslate Morningstar data into short, compelling stories using lively writing and engaging graphics. The ideal candidate is passionate about investingandis deeply curious.You'llhave a knack for writing and editing original content about investing.This team is building dynamic experiences that express Morningstar's investing philosophies at every interaction.You'llensure our content is jargon-free, digestible, and action-oriented.

This position is based in our Chicago office.We follow a hybrid policy of4days onsite and1-dayremote work.

We'relooking for someone who will:

• Become an expert on our audiences and the formats they use.
• Be an active editor bycoaching writerson how best to use data to tell their stories.
• Participate in story ideation and content creation efforts with coordination from editors, audience engagement strategists, and media production.
• Write and edit for various video channels.
• Understand audience analytics to develop engaging content to increase engagement.
• Edit andwritedaily articles for Morningstar.com.

Requirements:

• At least5+years of experiencein content strategy or journalism at an investing publication or financial services company.
• Interest in and experience writing about investing, personal finance, or markets.
• Experience writing for digital formats and an interest in on-camera responsibilities.
• A degree in journalism, communications,financeor a related field.
• A familiarity with Morningstar's data andresearch;experience using Morningstar Direct preferred.
• Understanding search engine optimization and AI optimization practices.
• Superb communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work with writers, designers, producers, and subject-matter experts.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Experience with AP Style.
