Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Data Analyst (PhD).

The laboratory of Aravinda Chakravarti is seeking an experienced bioinformatics programmer and genomics analyst to join our genetics analysis team. This position plays a key role in leading our large-scale case-control and family data analysis of ongoing studies of complex genetic disorders, specifically autism and cardiovascular disease. Responsibilities will include exome and genome analysis of a large (60k+) autism-associated family cohort as well as analysis of functional genomics assays associated with hypertension. This role is well-suited for an individual with a PhD degree with diverse genomics expertise for at least 3 years. The ideal candidate will excel at combining independence, leadership and project management with teamwork and professionalism. An interest in contributing to manuscript and grant writing is a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designs, initiates, and executes research analyses critical to each project's mission.
  • Designs, develops and tests software necessary for analyses
  • Develops research methods relevant to software development
  • Identify and resolve technical problems.
  • Ensures timely reporting of progress and impediments for timely completion of research projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD Required

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $70,727.81- $106,180.20 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
