Site Investigations and Remediation Group Manager

Terracon's Lenexa office is seeking a proven leader to step into a Site Investigation and Remediation Group Manager role-an opportunity to lead a well-established team, expand a strong project portfolio, and shape the future of environmental services across Kansas and Missouri. This is a high-impact position for someone who wants to move beyond project execution and take ownership of people, clients, and business growth.

In this role, you'll lead a talented group of environmental professionals focused on site investigation, remediation, and Brownfields redevelopment. With an existing backlog of work and strong client relationships already in place, you'll be positioned to focus on team development, strategic growth, and delivering high-quality solutions across a diverse mix of projects. You'll have the autonomy to influence direction, mentor staff, and play a key role in expanding Terracon's presence in the region.

We're looking for someone with deep experience in environmental investigation and remediation, including Phase II ESAs, site characterization, and regulatory programs such as MDNR and KDHE LUST/VCP/BVCP. Prior leadership experience is important, but just as critical is your ability to develop people, build client trust, and drive business forward. Brownfields experience is a plus, but not required.

Beyond leadership, you'll oversee project execution, guide proposal strategy and pricing, and ensure quality, safety, and performance across the group. You'll also play a visible role in business development-identifying opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and helping grow a practice that already has a strong foundation.

• Responsible for preparation of proposals and cost estimates.
• With support from the Department/Office manager perform business and client development activities.
• With support from the Department/Office Manager develop and manage employee staffing plans, recruitment, selection and on-boarding.
• With support from the Department/Office Manager prepare and execute annual business plan for the specialty service group.
• With support from the Department/Office Manager oversee and manage the success of the key group metrics of revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing and collections, and project profitability.
• Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies.
• Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
• Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor quality standards and practices. Engage APRs on projects at their onset.
• With support from the Department/Office Manager mentor, train and develop new staff on technical and business aspects of their duties.

• Bachelor's degree in technical discipline practiced by the Firm including Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology and 10 years' practice experience. PE or RG preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
