About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As a Senior Technical Writer, you will be accountable for leading the development, governance, and continuous improvement of all operational documentation while ensuring clarity, compliance, and alignment with regulatory and operational excellence standards.

Compensation

Salary Range: $95,000 - $105,000

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)

• Lead the creation, governance, and lifecycle management of all bakery documentation, including SOPs, Work Instructions, OPLs, and process maps.
• Ensure operational documentation meets regulatory, food safety, GFSI, customer audit, and internal compliance requirements.
• Translate complex bakery processes into accurate, clear, and userfriendly visual and written materials.
• Develop and maintain training content within the Alchemy LMS, ensuring alignment with safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Partner with crossfunctional teams to document new equipment, process changes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coach supervisors and subject matter experts on documentation quality, standards, and technical communication best practices.
• Support audit readiness and continuous improvement by identifying documentation gaps and recommending structural improvements.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• 4-7 years of technical writing experience in manufacturing, food production, engineering, or quality environments.
• Proven experience developing SOPs, Work Instructions, and visual documentation for production settings.
• Strong understanding of GMPs, food safety standards, and manufacturing workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to lead crossfunctional documentation projects and train SMEs.
• Proficiency with learning management systems (Alchemy preferred).
• Exceptional writing, editing, interviewing, and processanalysis skills.
• Expertise using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and visualcontent tools.

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

• Experience in bakery manufacturing or CPG food operations.
• Certification or training in Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, or similar CI methodologies.
• Experience managing sitelevel documentation governance programs.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Experience supporting audit readiness for customers, regulatory, or internal audits.
