Job Description




As a Security Officer - Bank Alarm Response in Buffalo, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As a Security Officer with Allied Universal at a financial institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help to deter security-related incidents. You will greet employees and visitors, support access control and incident reporting, and communicate clearly with site contacts. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
  • Monitor entrances, lobbies, and customer service areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior spaces and around the perimeter, adjusting to changing conditions at the location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and escalate concerns to site leadership and/or emergency services as required.
  • Complete access control tasks such as verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing deliveries to designated receiving areas.
  • Observe and report unusual activity near ATMs, night depositories, and other high-traffic customer areas, following site-specific procedures for notifications.
  • Operate and/or monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, intrusion alarms, and communication equipment, documenting observed activity per policy.
  • Provide clear directions and assistance to customers and employees while maintaining a professional presence consistent with financial institution standards.
  • Document shift activity, incidents, and patrol observations in daily logs and written reports, maintaining accurate and timely records.
  • Work with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts to follow post orders, support client service needs, and communicate operational concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
