JMT Technology Group, a leading technology services and solutions provider, has an opening for a Director of Client Engagement.

Position Summary: The Director of Client Engagement is responsible for developing, monitoring and maintaining client relationships that result in sustainable and profitable business; seeking, developing and securing new business opportunities, developing and implementing strategic business and tactical action plans and participating in related marketing and business activities. The Director of Client Engagement will collaborate with project managers, business development, marketing staff, and subject matter experts throughout JMT to broaden our technology customer base, as well as maintain business relationships with our existing customers. The Director of Client Engagement will also be responsible for engaging with business partners to enhance and strengthen our relationships by facilitating partnering activities that will result in positive revenue growth.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities


  • Develop strategic and tactical plans for identified clients; execute, monitor, and report on the approved plan

    • Develop relationships with new and existing clients to discover project and program information
    • Conduct market research and maintain thorough knowledge of clients, industry trends, the solutions/services we can provide, and of our competitors
    • Build a pipeline of new business for the identified clients
    • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network
    • Develop plans that set targets for booked revenue and provide support that will continually improve the relationship with key clients


  • Lead client relation efforts for inbound leads within a defined geographic region or technical area of expertise
  • Support client retention efforts by presenting new products and services and enhancing existing relationships
  • Monitor and obtain feedback from clients to assess JMT performance. Develop correction action plans, as necessary
  • Work with mid and senior-level management, marketing, other practices, and technical staff within JMT
  • Regularly report on progress against the business development metrics of the Technology Solutions practice
  • Lead proposal development that speaks to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives and participate in pricing the solution/service including working with the client
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information to the team on market and creative trends; identify opportunities for campaigns and services that will lead to an increase in sales; using knowledge of the market and competitors, and identify and develop our unique selling propositions and differentiators for our clients.
  • Work with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisites (such as prequalification or getting on a vendor list) are fulfilled within a timely manner
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the company's people and capabilities
  • Provide contract management services
  • Responsible for the Technology Group revenue, expenses, and profitability associated with client management
  • Provide project management services as needed

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in business, marketing, GIS, information technology or related field
  • Minimum of five years of information technology and/or geospatial business development experience
  • Minimum of five years of information technology and/or geospatial business operations experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience with state and local government clients, specifically in the transportation, airport, water/wastewater, environment and natural resource, facility, and/or public safety markets
  • Minimum of five years of project management experience

Preferred Skills


  • PMP certification is highly desired

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
