Job Description




As a Security Officer - Plant Patrol in Columbus, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control and incident reporting. You will communicate clearly with employees, visitors, and leadership, providing a helpful customer-focused presence. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, and site-specific policies, including access control and visitor processing.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, parking lots, and the facility perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential hazards or maintenance concerns for reporting.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other security-related systems, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and/or unsafe conditions per site guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, coordinating with site leadership and/or emergency services, and assisting with scene control as directed.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity documentation, and communicate pertinent information during shift transitions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR Certification is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
