As a Security Officer - Utilities Gatehouse in Petersburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal at a utilities location where you will support access control operations by greeting visitors, checking credentials, managing entry logs, and helping to guide people to the right areas. You will monitor assigned points, conduct routine rounds as needed, respond to security-related concerns, and communicate clearly with staff and guests. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, access control procedures, and location-specific policies.
• Control entry and exit at gates and/or lobbies by checking identification, verifying authorization lists, issuing visitor credentials, and directing traffic to approved areas.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems as assigned, and document unusual activity and/or policy exceptions using required reports and logs.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, operational areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized access and support security-related operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Client requires proof of HS Diploma/GED.
• Comfortable using computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
