Position Summary:

The Vice President of Business Development will drive sustained revenue growth, deepen strategic client relationships, and expand Plante Moran Realpoint's market presence across West Michigan. This role combines high-level business development with hands-on real estate transaction management, ensuring clients receive both strategic counsel and flawless execution. Candidates should possess a high degree of discipline, self-confidence, and professionalism with a proven track record of personal and professional success. Transaction Managers work in a team environment to provide tenant and buyer representation for office and industrial space users.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the executive relationship lead for a portfolio of strategic clients, advising senior stakeholders on real estate strategy and portfolio optimization.
  • Act as a trusted counselor, anticipating evolving client needs and delivering forward-looking solutions.
  • Orchestrate firm-wide resources to deliver integrated, multi-disciplinary advisory solutions.
  • Build and sustain long-term partnerships grounded in trust and measurable value creation
  • Lead regional business development strategy, driving new client acquisition and multi-service engagement growth.
  • Originate and close complex advisory, brokerage, and consulting engagements across West Michigan and select national accounts.
  • Develop and maintain a high-performing pipeline through executive networking, strategic referrals, and market visibility.
  • Represent the firm at industry forums, client engagements, and community leadership organizations.
  • Stay ahead of regional and national real estate, economic, and capital market trends.
  • Translate market intelligence into actionable insights for clients and internal leadership.
  • Elevate Plante Moran Realpoint's brand through thought leadership and market presence.
  • Partner with senior advisors, brokers, and consultants to design and deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
  • Champion the firm's values, client-first philosophy, and professional excellence.

The Qualifications

  • 15+ years in real estate advisory, brokerage, or consulting, with proven success in business development and transaction management.
  • Executive relationship management, strategic planning, negotiation, and deal execution.
  • Deep understanding of real estate markets, capital trends, and portfolio strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CCIM, SIOR).

The compensation range reflects the base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position across our offices in the following regions: CO, IL, OH, and MA. Please review the position description for the applicable geographic location. Generally, experienced hires are not hired at or near the maximum salary range, as compensation decisions take into account a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to: responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. For early career roles, including campus hires, we offer standardized, market-based starting salaries among individuals within the same hiring group. This approach ensures fairness and reflects current industry benchmarks for entry-level talent.

The compensation range for this role in CO, IL, OH, and MA is:$114,000.00-$160,000.00
