About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn't a buzzword - it's a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

Are you a decisive product leader who thrives on turning technical complexity into strategic clarity? We are looking for a decisive and strategic Product Leader to own the future of our cloud economics. As a Senior Product Manager, you will drive Salesforce's Customer Placement and Rebalancing strategy - a sophisticated portfolio of internal data products that directly optimizes our global cloud footprint, driving massive performance and margin improvements across all major infrastructure providers.

In this role you will steer strategic direction, navigating the high-stakes trade-offs of cloud migration, managing expectations across executive leadership and engineering while serving as a shield and a compass for your team. You will be responsible for defining the "Why" and the "When," ensuring that every move we make aligns with our broader cloud value proposition and financial goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the Strategic Vision: Define and drive the roadmap for customer placement and rebalancing, moving beyond tactical ticket-taking to deliver a long-term infrastructure strategy.

  • Drive Radical Clarity: Act as the bridge between complex cloud architecture and business outcomes, translating ambiguity into actionable insights for stakeholders and clear priorities for the dev team.

  • Manage the Portfolio: Run a lean, iterative "lab" of internal data products, using experiments and rapid feedback loops to test rebalancing hypotheses.

  • Decisively Manage Stakeholders: Use strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills to say "no" when necessary, align disparate incentives, and manage expectations through high-pressure migrations.

  • Bridge the Technical & Functional: Leverage your SQL skills and data fluency to validate your own roadmap, while collaborating with Salesforce and Architecture teams to ensure seamless integration.

Your Impact

  • Architect the Placement Strategy: Define the "North Star" for how and why we move customers across cloud instances. You will dictate the strategy for infrastructure rebalancing that maximizes both performance and margin.

  • Drive Strategic Clarity: Act as the primary filter for the team. You will take ambiguous requests from the business and transform them into a crystal-clear roadmap, ensuring the engineering team is never guessing about the "why" behind their work.

  • Lead Through Conflict: Serve as the decisive voice in high-stakes "move vs. stay" discussions. You will manage the complex expectations of stakeholders who may have conflicting priorities, using data and interpersonal influence to drive a final decision.

  • Iterate with Agility: Run your product portfolio like a startup. You will design and execute experiments on internal data products, rapidly iterating on rebalancing logic to find the most efficient paths for customer migration.

  • Master the Cloud Value Proposition: Bridge the gap between Salesforce data, Cloud Architecture, and Finance. You will provide the executive layer with a sophisticated view of our infrastructure portfolio, moving beyond basic reporting to actionable strategic advice.

  • Say "No" to Protect the Vision: Act as the CEO of your product area. You will proactively manage the backlog by prioritizing high-impact initiatives and declining distractions that don't align with the long-term infrastructure strategy.

  • Synthesize Complex Systems: Rapidly learn and integrate knowledge across Salesforce, proprietary cloud tools, and major providers (AWS/GCP/Azure) to ensure our placement logic is technically sound and operationally scalable.

Required Skills:

  • Strategic Decisiveness: Proven ability to take a strong position, defend it with data, and manage the fallout of "saying no." You must be comfortable being the final word on product direction to drive clarity for your team.

  • Conflict Resolution & Expectation Management: Expert-level interpersonal skills with a track record of navigating high-stakes stakeholder environments. You can mediate between competing priorities (e.g., Engineering vs. Finance) and bring everyone to a unified strategic path.

  • UX Design: Ability to build your own UX mockups and wireframes to communicate vision and product flow quickly.

  • Cloud Architecture: A deep understanding of the cloud value proposition, ideally gained from being a customer/user of a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

  • Internal Product Mastery: Experience managing a portfolio of internal data products rather than a single external SaaS app. You should be comfortable with rapid experimentation, backlog iteration, and "failing fast."

  • Systemic Quick Learner: Ability to rapidly gain expertise in complex, intertwined ecosystems including Salesforce, internal cloud architectures, and FinOps frameworks.

  • Operational FinOps Knowledge: Deep appreciation of the mechanics and consequences of customer placement and rebalancing, including the financial and technical implications of moving workloads across different cloud instances or providers.

  • Visionary Communication: A proven ability to transform "ambiguity" into a documented, high-clarity strategy. You leave meetings with a clear path forward that inspires confidence in both management and the engineering team.

  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: You act as the CEO of your product. You are proactive in seeking out initiatives and driving impact, rather than waiting for instructions or consensus.

Preferred:

  • Big Data Experience:

    • Experience with ETL data pipelines.

    • Familiarity with financial reporting and analysis tools.

    • Hands-on experience with Python or SQL for data analysis.

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) or similar certification.
