Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in computer science, IT, engineering, or related field.

Substitution of Experience for Education: Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis, up to four years.

Overview

Under general supervision, the Enterprise Application Administrator-Advanced provides expert-level administration of enterprise-class applications, servers, and infrastructure in development, test, and production environments. Responsibilities include advanced troubleshooting, performance tuning, system design input, and overseeing application migrations, upgrades, and integration projects. This role supports statewide IT goals by ensuring robust system performance, reliability, and security for critical enterprise systems. It differs from intermediate roles by taking on greater responsibility for architectural planning, incident management, and technical leadership in enterprise service delivery.

Responsibilities

1. Advanced System Support - Performs upgrades, patches, configurations, and troubleshooting of enterprise systems, coordinating across vendors and support teams.
2. Architecture & Infrastructure Planning - Assists in designing technical architectures and strategies for new and existing enterprise systems.
3. Performance & Capacity Management - Monitors performance metrics and optimizes applications and server loads across environments.
4. Change & Release Management - Leads migration and implementation processes across environments, ensuring stability and compliance.
5. Security & Compliance - Develops and enforces security measures, audits system integrity, and supports business resumption and disaster recovery planning.
6. Collaboration & Leadership - Leads technical meetings, mentors' peers, and collaborates with vendors and cross-functional teams.
7. Documentation & Training - Creates and maintains detailed documentation, administrative procedures, and team training materials.
8. Innovation & Evaluation - Reviews new technologies and recommends improvements to enterprise application environments.
