Lead Systems Engineer Join Life Cycle Engineering in support of the NCIS IT support services mission headquartered in Quantico, Virginia. The Information Technology Directorate (ITD) supports the NCIS core mission areas to investigate and defeat criminal, terrorist, and foreign intelligence threats by planning for and providing services through appropriate use of the people, equipment, technology, and infrastructure resources of the United States (U.S.) Navy and Marine Corps. This position is expected to start in Q3 of 2026 Position Summary: The Lead Systems Engineer will act as a technical leader for all personnel engaged in the delivery of enterprise scale solutions and provide an outstanding customer service experience in a variety of circumstances across all organizational levels. Clearance Requirements: Must have an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Leads and participates in complex operating systems, systems software planning and implementation, and production support activities. Interfaces with Contractor and Government personnel, confers with equipment and software vendors, and directs subordinate personnel to take appropriate courses of action. Provide security operations or coordinates security operations functions in support of cybersecurity accreditation - risk management framework (RMF) continuous monitoring process. Also responsible for writing, editing, and preparing graphical presentations of technical information. Required Education, Skills, and Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in operating computer systems Must have minimum of three (3) years' supervisory and management experience in 7x24 on call operational environments Experience in engineering data center Broad experience with virtualized environments, managing SANs/NAS devices, email services, desktop services, and a variety of technologies supporting computing capabilities Position requires minimum of Security Plus (+) Certified information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification preferred Physical Demands and Expectations: Regular physical activity including walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment This position description re present s a summary of the major components and requirements of the outlined job.
