Responsibilities

Desert View Hospital is a 25-bed, acute care hospital set in a rural community. Desert View provides safe and competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. We provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Job Description:

Responsible for assisting with implementation and maintenance of the Infection Control Program's hospital's surveillance. Serves as a resource to all hospital departments, participating in identified projects or groups related to Infection Control.


Qualifications

Education:

Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Clinical Microbiology or other health related science required. Master's in Nursing, Education, Edpidemiology, Public Health, Clinical Microbiology or other health related science preferred.

Experience:

Two (2) to five (5) years clinical experience in health related field required. One (1) year experience in Infection Prevention or epidemiology preferred.

Technical Skills:

Computer proficiency to include word processing, spreadsheet and database.

License/Certification:

Current State of Nevada license in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or other related health science if applicable. Eligible to become certified in Infection Prevention within two (2) years of employment.

Other:

Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
