The Position
2026 Summer Intern - Discovery Oncology Department Summary The Department of Discovery Oncology at Genentech seeks a highly talented and motivated intern to investigate fundamental mechanisms of cellular stress and adaptive responses in cancer-relevant model systems. The intern will contribute to ongoing discovery research efforts by applying molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques (in particular chromatin biology techniques such as ATAC-seq and ChIP-seq) to characterize stress-associated transcriptional responses. This position provides hands-on experience in experimental biology embedded within a translational research environment, with exposure to how basic mechanistic insight supports therapeutic discovery. Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location ofCalifornia is $46.00 hour.Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
