Job Description




As a Security Officer - City Hall Rover in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help to discourage security-related incidents. You will monitor assigned areas, support access control and badging processes as needed, and assist visitors and staff with clear communication and professional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors and employees by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and/or access concerns per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials as required, and directing visitors to appropriate check-in processes.
  • Complete required documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports, and communicate relevant updates to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
