Position Overview

At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Manufacturing Technician High School Intern to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities

This new internship program is based at Aurora's Manassas, VA site and is designed to support students whose academic programs align with manufacturing and related career paths. Manufacturing Technician High School Internship Program will expose interns to multiple functional areas within manufacturing, aligned with the student's academic program and future career goals. Areas of exposure may include:
- Workplace safety and compliance.
- Manufacturing systems and operations.
- Materials and processing.
- Manufacturing processes and workflows.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Finance, HR).

*Interns will receive appropriate safety training and will work under direct supervision at all times. Interns will not independently operate hazardous machinery or perform tasks restricted by safety policies.

*This is a paid, temporary internship designed to provide structured learning and exposure to a professional manufacturing environment. This position does not guarantee future employment.

Minimum Requirements

- Currently enrolled in approved Virginia Department of Education program aligned with manufacturing or related career paths.
- Demonstrate ability to contribute to a team based, fast-paced, and self-directed environment.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Maintain satisfactory academic standing and stay on track for program completion.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Must be a U.S. Person.

Preferred Requirements

- Exposure to or interest in professional workplace competencies.
- General awareness of manufacturing systems or processes.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE.
- Follow Boeing regulations for lifting; consistently stand, stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb, and kneel.
- Work onsite in Manassas, VA.
