Overview The Aviation Inventory Control Supervisor oversees all activities related to aircraft parts inventory accuracy, material availability, warehouse operations, and supply chain coordination. This role ensures that all inventory movement, storage, documentation, and reconciliation comply with FAA regulations, company policies, OEM specifications, and aviation maintenance best practices. The Supervisor leads a team of inventory controllers to maintain optimal stock levels, reduce operational delays, and support maintenance operations across the fleet Scope The Inventory Control Supervisor reports to the Aviation Supply Chain Logistics Manager and serves as a key leader within the GMR aviation supply chain organization. This position is responsible for all inventory accuracy, control, and traceability activities across GMR warehouses and inventory locations. The role ensures that all incoming aviation parts are properly received, inspected, recorded, stored, and maintained in compliance with company guidelines, industry standards, and FAA regulatory requirements. The Supervisor supports operational readiness by maintaining accurate inventory levels, minimizing discrepancies, and ensuring the highest standards of material integrity and availability. Key Working Relationships
- Purchasing Department: Coordination on receiving and supplierrelated inventory issues
- Accounting Support: Accurate and timely receiving, inventory valuation, reconciliation, and audit support
- Safety & Quality Departments: Safe warehouse operations, documentation accuracy, and FAA compliance
- Maintenance Operations: Timely material availability for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
- GMR Air Business Unit Leaders: Coordination to maximize departmental efficiency
- Warehouse & Inventory Controllers: Daily oversight, direction, and operational support
Responsibilities 1. Warehouse & Inventory Operations
- Inventory Management: Oversee receipt, storage, and distribution of aviation parts; ensure documentation accuracy and system integrity.
- Stock Control: Monitor inventory levels, conduct cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and support yearend physical inventory activities.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to FAA, EASA, and company policies, including traceability, documentation, labeling, and handling of serviceable/unserviceable parts.
- Procurement Coordination: Partner with Purchasing to ensure timely ordering and replenishment of materials.
- Team Supervision: Lead, train, mentor, and evaluate inventory staff while promoting safety, accuracy, and operational excellence.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure proper inspection of incoming materials for condition, documentation, and compliance.
- Reporting & Analysis: Produce and analyze inventory reports to identify trends, forecast needs, and support budgeting.
- Shipping Support: Assist with inbound and outbound shipping activities as needed.
2. Safety & Organization
- Enforce safety protocols within parts rooms and storage areas.
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and secure handling of all materials, including HAZMAT, in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
3. Process Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements to inventory control processes.
- Optimize storage layouts, labeling systems, picking methods, and materialhandling strategies to improve efficiency and accuracy.
4. Department Coordination
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to prioritize material availability.
- Support operational requirements and minimize aircraft downtime through proactive planning and communication.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong knowledge of inventory control principles (tracking, cycle counting, reconciliation, accuracy).
- Familiarity with FAA/EASA regulations and aviation documentation standards.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and develop staff.
- Experience optimizing storage systems and improving inventory efficiency.
- Strong analytical skills for data interpretation, forecasting, and KPI development.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRO systems (SAP, Oracle, RAMCO) and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication; ability to work crossfunctionally and with senior leadership.
- Ability to resolve discrepancies, streamline processes, and address supply chain challenges.
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards, including hazardous materials handling.
- Highly organized, detailoriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for audits, inventory counts, and training.
- Ability to perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum five years of experience with supply chain concepts.
- Advanced computer skills, preferably with inventory tracking systems.
- At least four years of peopleleadership experience overseeing large teams.
- Strong decisionmaking skills, including sound judgment under pressure and datadriven problemsolving.
- Aviation industry experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
