We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate medical records efficiently. The Medical Biller will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our practice while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.



Responsibilities



  • Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
  • Utilize coding systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10 to ensure accurate billing.
  • Review patient records for accuracy and completeness before submitting claims.
  • Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims .
  • Communicate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to resolve billing issues.
  • Follow up on on medical billing claims for appeals and payment as necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and billing regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and regulations related to billing practices.
  • Assist in maintaining organized medical records for easy access and retrieval.
  • Additional duties as assigned and necessary for the function of the department and practice.



Education:

High school/GED required

CPT or Billing training preferred



Required Work Experience:



  • 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting desirable
  • Proficient in medical billing software and systems.
  • Strong knowledge of DRG coding, ICD/ICD-10 codes, and medical terminology.
  • Familiar with CPT, HCPCS, and coding guidelines.
  • Understanding of medical collection processes and billing principles.
  • Ability to interpret patient medical records for coding accuracy.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Capable of working independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer service-oriented and professional demeanor.
  • Previous medical office experience preferred.



Salary Range: Minimum 20.00/hour - Maximum 25.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
