Position Overview

The Development Programs Process Manager is responsible for leading Operations and Supply Chain (Ops/SC) activities across development programs, serving as the primary voice for Ops/SC execution. This role ensures alignment between program objectives, supplier capabilities, and manufacturing readiness, while driving strategic initiatives for future development work.

As our Development Programs Process Manager, you'll translate complex program requirements into executable schedules, align demand with supply, and ensure materials, capacity, and teams are ready to deliver on-time, every time. Your work directly supports program milestones, warfighter readiness, and customer trust.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead Ops/SC for Development Programs

  • Act as the voice of Ops/SC execution within cross-functional program teams.
  • Ensure operational readiness and alignment with program milestones.

Mitigate Supply Chain Risk

  • Proactively communicate program objectives, timelines, and risks to suppliers.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and recovery plans to ensure continuity of supply.

Strategic Planning for Future Development Work

  • Support planning for emerging technologies and large-scale components (e.g., actuators, systems, batteries, structures).
  • Identify long-term operational and supply chain resource requirements.

Proposal Support

  • Contribute to proposal strategy, cost estimation, and risk identification for new development programs.
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning Manager for operational feasibility and supply chain considerations are provided to Proposal Team.

Transition to LRIP/FRP

  • Coordinate handoff from development to Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and Full-Rate Production (FRP).
  • Establish processes and documentation that consider higher rate production.

Maintain an active role in the daily transactional work of the Development Supply Chain Team

  • Lead Tiered Development Supply Chain meetings, ANDON's, and escalations.
  • Assess staffing requirements.

Design for Manufacturability (DFM)

  • Collaborate with program design teams to incorporate supplier and manufacturing engineering input early in the design process.
  • Promote cost-effective and scalable designs for future production.

What Success Looks Like

  • On-Time Delivery: Critical need dates are communicated to key suppliers. Develop metrics that support on-time program deliverables.
  • Risk Mitigation: Critical path Supply Chain risks have documented mitigation plans.
  • DFM Integration: Supplier/manufacturing input incorporated into design reviews before Critical Design Review (CDR).
  • Proposal Accuracy: Identify cost and risk estimates for awarded programs.
  • Transition Readiness: LRIP/FRP transition plans completed before production start.
  • Supplier Engagement: POC for all critical suppliers. Facilitates and leads regular meetings with critical suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Manage prioritization of resources for critical development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, or program management within aerospace/defense or similar industries.
  • Strong understanding of hardware development lifecycle and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to manage complex supplier relationships and mitigate risk.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience in cross-functional team environments.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $85,000.00-$125,000.00 Annually

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
