Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented, people-focused individual to lead the Fiscal Service Center within the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC). In this role, you will support two or three academic departments by overseeing day-to-day financial operations, guiding a small team, and helping ensure our financial processes run smoothly and accurately.

Job Duties Include:

Team Leadership & Support

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop Fiscal Service Center staff
  • Coordinate training, work schedules, and coverage for absences
  • Provide regular performance feedback and evaluations

Financial Operations & Oversight

  • Review and approve a high volume of financial transactions with accuracy
  • Monitor departmental budgets and assist with annual budget planning
  • Reconcile payroll, departmental accounts, grants, and other financial activity
  • Generate financial reports for department leaders to support decision making

Process Improvement & Problem Solving

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency
  • Resolve transaction errors and ensure timely, accurate processing
  • Serve as a resource for staff and faculty by answering questions and offering fiscal guidance

Compliance & Communication

  • Ensure financial operations meet University and regulatory requirements
  • Communicate regularly with campus partners and departmental staekholders
  • Offer interpretations of fiscal policy and make informed recommendations to leadership

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as needed
Shift

Monday-Friday. 8:00am-4:30pm

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • High proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Excel-Pivot Tables), PeopleSoft, PowerBI, databases, and other business software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in working with numerical data
  • Organized with ability to successfully manage and meet multiple deadlines
  • Prior management experience
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $24.00-$27.37 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
