Cyber Security Analyst

Join Life Cycle Engineering in support of the NCIS IT support services mission headquartered in Quantico, Virginia. The Information Technology Directorate (ITD) supports the NCIS core mission areas to investigate and defeat criminal, terrorist, and foreign intelligence threats by planning for and providing services through appropriate use of the people, equipment, technology, and infrastructure resources of the United States (U.S.) Navy and Marine Corps.

Position Summary:

As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will establish and satisfy system-wide information security requirements based on analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands. Support the government Cybersecurity personnel in the development and implementation of cybersecurity/IA doctrine and policies. Provide leadership and guidance in the development, design and application of solutions implemented by junior cybersecurity/IA staff.

Clearance Requirements:

Must have an active Top Secret /SCI Secret Clearance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Ensure compliance of Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages; verifies and validates that all required patches, updates, and/or configuration modifications are performed and tested.
  • Review system engineering documentation, CONOPS, installation and configuration specifications to determine security requirements and to identify security concerns.
  • Must have experience with using public key-based technologies for applications.



Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in Information Systems Security Engineering.
  • Minimum of three (3) year supervisory and management experience.
  • Meet the requirements of an IAT III per the DoD, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification preferred.
  • Fully Qualified Level Navy Validator whose qualifications are identified in OPNAVINST 5239.
  • Strong background in applying info systems security engineering, security services, mechanisms, threat mitigations, and lessons learned from attack scenarios.
  • Experience in the Certification and Accreditation for IT systems.
  • Experience with HBSS, MacAfee, Cisco SourceFire, Solarwinds, and/or NitroSecurity.


Physical Demands and Expectations:

  • Travel will be required to support this task (up to 25% travel)
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
