Location: New York, NY (Hybrid - 3 days onsite minimum)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM EST

Type: Contract

Pay : $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Job Summary

The Legal Calendar Clerk / Litigation Support Clerk provides essential administrative support to a busy legal team handling insurance defense and litigation matters. This role focuses on maintaining legal calendars, performing e filing, supporting document preparation, and ensuring compliance with court deadlines and procedures. The position requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, deadline driven environment while collaborating with attorneys and paralegals.

Job Responsibilities


  • Maintain and manage legal calendars, including court dates, filing deadlines, and case milestones
  • Perform e filing of legal documents through NYSCEF, PACER, and other court filing systems
  • Support attorneys and paralegals with data entry, document organization, and case management
  • Assist with preparation and processing of litigation documents
  • Update and maintain electronic case files and document repositories
  • Coordinate with legal team members to ensure deadlines and procedural requirements are met
  • Provide general administrative litigation support as needed


Job Requirements

  • Prior experience in a law firm or legal department in a calendaring, clerical, or litigation support role
  • Strong calendaring experience with knowledge of court procedures and deadlines
  • E filing experience required (NYSCEF, PACER, or similar systems)
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in data entry and document management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliability and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Experience collaborating with attorneys and paralegals preferred (user review recommended)


Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent legal experience


Work Experience

  • Prior experience supporting litigation or insurance defense matters preferred (user review recommended)
