Primary Responsibilities
-Provides clinical services including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment to patients.
-Documents each clinical visit in the medical record on the day of service.
-Contributes to treatment plans and discharge summaries.
-Participates in team rounds and other clinical meetings, and helps coordinate all treatment and discharge planning.
-Oversees appropriate medical care & prescribes medications.
-Meets with families for clinical discussions as needed.
-Communicates with referring sources, primary care physicians, and other community providers.
-Attends program and hospital administrative meetings as required.
-Complies with all hospital clinical and administrative policies.
-Participates in utilization management, risk management, and quality assurance activities.
-Provides supervision of medical trainees, nursing trainees, and others as appropriate.
-Facilitates integration of medical services with other clinical program services.
-Will attend supervision by supervising Psychiatrist MD.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree Nursing required

  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure required

  • 3+ years of Nurse Practitioner experience treating complex care adult psychiatric patients required

  • Experience working with patient populations with substance use disorders required



Schedule and Work Model

- Schedule: Full-time Monday through Friday, standard business hours

- Hybrid Work Model:

  • See patients at Newton Wellesley Hospital and in the community - joint visits, telemed (virtual) visits, home visits, etc.

  • Remote / work from home and field/clinic/community schedule is based on patient and team needs.
