POSITION: SENIOR CLOUD ENGINEER

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data center hardware, networking, virtualization, and cloud strategy, particularly with Microsoft Azure. This individual will serve as a lead engineer for our Azure migration. The Senior Cloud Engineer is a proactive professional capable of leading complex IT projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and serving as a senior escalation point across infrastructure, security, and application teams. The Senior Cloud Engineer will play a pivotal role in modernizing our IT environment, enhancing resilience, and helping drive forward the organization's strategic technology initiatives.

Key Result Areas:


  • Serve as the primary technical lead for cloud migration to Microsoft Azure. Architect, plan, and execute the phased migration of on-premise workloads to Azure while ensuring security, performance, and regulatory compliance. Monitor cloud environments to ensure performance, availability, and security across services.
  • Automate cloud infrastructure tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders such as DevOps, Security, and Development teams to optimize cloud resource usage and cost efficiency. Partner with stakeholders to manage timelines and ensure outcomes align with business and compliance objectives.
  • Execute and refine cloud networking requirements, provide support and troubleshooting for cloud-based systems and applications and prepare documentation and remediation plans as needed.
  • Lead infrastructure-related projects from planning through execution. Deliver regular updates on system health, project milestones, and compliance to IT leadership.
  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring systems are compliant with financial industry regulations.
  • Implement and maintain Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations using Microsoft Entra.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of system configurations, architectural decisions, and procedural runbooks.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and evolving threats and identify opportunities for infrastructure improvements to boost efficiency, scalability, and security.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in IT cloud infrastructure role with expertise in Azure architecture, migrations, and governance
  • Prior experience in financial services or other regulated environments, preferred
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with SSO and identity federation using Microsoft Entra ID
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, preferred
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable, resourceful, and able to thrive in fast-paced environments

Location: Hybrid/Waltham, MA Salary Range: $130,000 - $175,000

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Cambridge Savings Bank ranges from $130,000 - $175,000. Cambridge Saving Bank will determine actual compensation for the role based on factors including, but not limited to, the successful candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
