Could you be the Full-time on-site Validation and Test Engineer in Hornell, NY we're looking for?

Your future role

"Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering and validation expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and dedicated teammates.
You'll contribute to the certification and validation of advanced train systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Site Certification and Validation Managers, Test Laboratory Engineers, Technical Experts), develop and execute test methodologies, analyze results, and prepare comprehensive reports, and much more."

We'll look to you for:




  • Participating in the design and development of the tools necessary for performing the tests,



  • Implementing, verifying, and ensuring compliance of the measuring equipment to be ready at the time of the test,



  • Preparing the equipment for testing and validating that the applied configuration and prerequisites allow the testing to proceed,



  • Respecting EHS rules, notably implementing LockOut TagOut instructions,



  • Supervising and/or executing test activities, analyzing test results "live," and deciding if the test has to be redone or not,



  • Conducting test results data analysis and writing static and dynamic test reports,



  • Updating the Validation Plan and consolidating the specification of tools and test means,



  • Executing activities given by the Train Validation Engineer (TVE),



  • Writing Train System test procedures and ensuring the timely issuance of validation proofs, consolidating validation files, and providing structured REX to enrich the technical repository"

  • Degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. ,



  • Experience or understanding of train systems, including system analysis and railways. ,



  • Knowledge of simulation tools such as Matlab, Control Build, or Lab View. ,



  • Familiarity with functional and physical test execution in domains like Train network, TCMS software functions, Traction, Braking, or Aerodynamics. ,



  • A certification or communication skill: Ability to communicate technical findings effectively in reports and presentations. ,



  • Tests organization capability and knowledge of planning tools. ,



  • Ability to define, create, and maintain test benches. ,



  • Knowledge of electrical vs software design on trains. ,



  • Travel ability up to 50%, based on project needs. ,
