Position Summary Assist department with research, writing, events, and/or general administration of women in STEM education efforts. Offers comprehensive programming focused on empowerment and assistance in STEM fields such as: workshops, conversations on inequity in STEM among women of color, session on empowerment and other topics relevant to the STEM field . Program Assistants are also expected to assist with office duty-related tasks as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Planning and leading events at WRC geared towards STEM fields and/or predominantly male dominated fields.

  • Collaborating with various campus resource centers on events and projects.

  • Welcome visitors to the resource center and assist students navigating the campus resources.

  • Answer the telephones, route calls, take messages, and provides general information; Greets and directs visitors; Answers routine inquiries; Maintains log of inquiries as required.

  • Assists in the implementation and organization of the office space.

  • Establishes, maintains, processes, and/or update files, records and/or other documents, including weekly reports.

  • Participates in WRC events or other events as needed.

  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Highly organized.

  • Comfortable with Microsoft (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.)

  • Demonstrated interest in social justice and/or feminist history.
