Responsibilities
Summary Technical ownership of hardware produced for applicable customers while supporting Howmet Aerospace to achieve established processing and financial targets Essential Duties and Responsibilities This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.
- Primary technical contact for applicable customers.
- Develop, modify, improve, and troubleshoot the processes associated with the production of seamless rolled rings and other open-die forgings.
- Metallurgical failure analysis and disposition for applicable customers, including generation of non-dimensional concessions for customer review.
- Own new part introduction (NPI) process for applicable customers, including final review of qualification packages prior to customer review.
- Perform various Metallurgy Department projects including planning, organizing data collection, and presentation.
- Initiate and control cost reduction projects to achieve targets established by Supervisor.
- Release hardware for production utilizing processes that are designed to meet or exceed customer technical (metallurgical and quality) requirements as specified on purchase orders, blueprints, specifications or other related documents.
- Review of new and revised technical (material, process, quality, etc) specifications, as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with processing of titanium and/or nickel-based superalloys, including melting, forging, heat treatment and/or testing. Working knowledge of Quality systems, specifications and process approvals for aeroengine primes such as GE, P&W, Safran, RR, MTU etc. Working knowledge of grain size rating methods for GE and/or Safran. Ability to coordinate multiple concurrent projects.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgical, Materials Science, or related field, from an accredited institution. A minimum of 3 years of experience in metallurgy or engineering.
Computer Skills
PAY $85,000/yr - $125,000/yr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
