Position

As a Safety & CI Manager, you will be responsible for leading the safety function in a manner that protects the company's team members, customers, and assets against losses, injuries, and accidents through the development and enforcement of safe work practices, while ensuring statutory compliance. You are also responsible to foster a culture of continuous improvement and optimize the organization performance through lean initiatives.

Safety & CI Manager Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the development and hands-on implementation of the company's comprehensive industrial safety program including safety training, safety policies & procedures, EHS compliance, risk assessments, ergonomic evaluations, and equipment inspections.
  • Coordinates & participates in corporate business safety strategies.
  • Coordinates safety steering committee & safety committee.
  • Analyze safety and performance indicators and determine appropriate countermeasures. Support location assessments (e.g. audits, inspections, accident investigations, etc.) with management and recommend and assist in the execution of corrective actions.
  • Initiates and implements a comprehensive training and continuous improvement programs that contributes to talent development and retention, as well as supporting the reduction in variability across our processes.
  • Facilitates lean events.
  • Sets performance metrics, evaluates productivity, meets comprehensive training needs, develops leadership programs, delivers innovative training and promotes the company brand.

Required Qualifications

  • Have genuine drive for continuous improvement of Health and Safety issues and risks, drilling for root cause, and ensuring preventive actions are implemented and controlled.
  • Take initiative to make improvements while collaboratively involving the necessary supervision and team(s) throughout decision process. Manage and motivate team-members in a team-based environment.
  • Possess excellent communication & training skills and ensure a collaborative interface exist across all teams (both technical and non-technical personnel). Serve as a team member, facilitator and/or leader as needed.
  • Thorough understanding of the company specific standards, including OSHA requirements and those by other regulatory authorities.
  • Ability to quantify and analyze data.
  • Familiar with planning tools such as flow and relationship diagrams.
  • Participative style with ability to establish credibility and be decisive.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills, including instructing and listening.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Able to prepare a variety of comprehensive administrative and technical documents and reports.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Lean certification preferred (Green or Black belt)
  • 8 or more years of related experience preferred.

Working Conditions

While performing typical duties of this job, production employees will experience the conditions noted below. PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment.

Usually work indoors. These sites may not be temperature-controlled.

Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.

Exposure to hazardous equipment.

Exposure to contaminants.

Shared workspaces with other employees.

Lifting pushing, pulling, and bending.

Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift and overtime).

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

PPE is provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee's position and exposure.
