About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Information Security Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. This person will be responsible for information security solution engineering in the context of IT and OT environments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the Gore Medical specific implementations of enterprise-wide security initiatives. This position also serves as a key liaison to theEnterprise CISOandInformation Security Teamsacross Gore's Operating Companies,representingGore Medical in global security strategy alignment. This position will be located at our facility in Phoenix or Flagstaff, Arizona, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Represent Gore Medical in enterprise-wide security initiatives and collaborate with the Enterprise CISO and Cross-OpCo Information Security Teams to align local and global security strategies
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, CMMC) through policy enforcement, audits, and risk assessments
- Collaborate with Architects and Network Engineers on the implementation of network security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and segmentation strategies using Palo Alto and Extreme Networks technologies
- Implement and secure OT (Operational Technology) networks, ensuring isolation, monitoring, and protection of industrial control systems
- Implement and maintain cloud security controls across Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms, including identity, access, and workload protection
- Collaborate with Enterprise Information Security and Client Management Teams on the management of endpoint security solutions, including antivirus, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and mobile device management (MDM)
- Understand and influence Gore's Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) infrastructure and processes, including certificate lifecycle management, Azure key stores, and integration with enterprise systems; understand and influence Gore's Identity Access Management infrastructure and processes, including managed identities and privileged access
- Implement and monitor Network Access Control (NAC) solutions to enforce device compliance and secure network access
- Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to integrate security into system architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code
- Assist in the Gore Medical response and investigation of security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in information security engineering or a related technical role
- Hands-on experience with hardware-based security infrastructure - Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, and threat prevention technologies
- Experience with IT and OT network design and securing industrial control systems (ICS/SCADA)
- Expertise in cloud security architecture, particularly in Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments
- Experience with PKI, certificate authorities, and secure key management practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft security tools, including Defender, Sentinel, Azure Security Center, Purview, and Intune
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, CIS, SOC 2)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and represent the organization externally
- Ability to travel up to 10%

- CISSP- Certified Information Systems Security Professional and/or CISM- Certified Information Security Manager
- CEH- Certified Ethical Hacker
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
