POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Operations Services, LLC has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Clerk III supporting Tinker Air Force Base located in Oklahoma City, OK. The Accounting Clerk III performs one or more accounting tasks such as; posting to registers and ledgers; balancing and reconciling accounts; verifying the internal consistency, completeness, and mathematical accuracy of accounting and procurement documents. General tasks include; assigning prescribed accounting codes; examining and verifying the clerical accuracy of various types of reports, lists, calculations, and postings. This position requires a knowledge and understanding of the established and standardized bookkeeping and accounting procedures and techniques used in an accounting system, or a segment of an accounting system where there are few variations in the types of transactions handled. Keeps supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered and identify and reports safety, environmental and other work requirements for resolution. Typical duties include one or both of the following: 1.) reviewing invoices and statements verifying information, ensuring sufficient funds have been obligated, and if questionable, resolving with the submitting unit determining accounts involved.



  • Responsible for preparing journal vouchers; making entries, and adjustments to accounts.
  • Reviews various documents against manually maintained journals, detect and correct erroneous postings, and prepare documents to adjust accounting classifications and other data, or review lists of transactions rejected by an automated system.
  • Maintains journals or subsidiary ledgers of an accounting system and balances and reconciles accounts.
  • Performs data entry functions in various software types and automated accounting systems.
  • Prepares and maintains all historical procurement files, invoices, and other completed work documents, warranties and all other pertinent information pertaining to purchase/order.
  • Determines reasons for invoice rejections and prepares necessary correcting materials.
  • Maintains, reviews, and sends employee timesheet corrections. Requests specific corrective actions to supervisors as necessary.
  • Interfaces with warehouse manager to verify parts/materials delivery status in software systems. Handles receiving documents, packing lists, and invoices as necessary.
  • Complies with applicable federal, state, United States Air Force (USAF) and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) environmental laws and regulations.
  • Complies with health and safety rules and procedures; performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
  • Incumbent will at all times wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position and duties.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping in performing one or more of the following: posting actions to journals, identifying subsidiary accounts affected, making debit and credit entries, and assigning proper codes.
  • Requires a basic knowledge and understanding of the terminology, codes, and processes used in an automated accounting system.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current state driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of valid insurance.
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances.
  • Minimum of one (2) years accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in using various computer software, including ability to use the Windows operating system as well as common office software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Database Management.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in technology.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations


Pay rate: $21.24 per hour
