As a Technical Corrosion Integrity Specialist II, you will develop corrosion prevention plans, scopes projects, and recommend strategies to ensure corrosion control, pipeline integrity, and regulatory compliance. You will also be expected to lead technical planning, evaluations, and drives innovation in monitoring and mitigation processes while collaborating with teams and mentor staff to foster continuous improvement and uphold industry-leading standards.

Here's what you will do:

  • Develop and maintain technically sound, transparent, and defensible annual monitoring and mitigation plans to manage corrosion risks across the GTM system.

  • Review and approve project scopes for monitoring, diagnosis, and mitigation, ensuring alignment with company procedures, work instructions, and templates.

  • Participate in regular meetings with Operations and Corrosion Prevention Execution teams to communicate technical requirements for annual plans and projects effectively.

  • Evaluate and recommend project deferrals or cancellations to the Corrosion Planning Supervisor or Manager.

  • Perform technical reviews, engineering assessments, and project designs related to corrosion control, including cathodic protection systems, interference and AC mitigation solutions.

  • Engage in corrosion threat committees, provide technical input to PI planning, and highlight corrosion control deficiencies impacting pipeline integrity.

  • Advance corrosion prevention strategies by developing and implementing technical roadmaps, gap analyses, and business plans.

  • Initiate and/or implement targeted research to enhance corrosion monitoring and mitigation technologies.

  • Update and approve corrosion management processes, standards, and specifications.

  • Provide subject matter expertise during regulatory audits.

  • Drive innovation to continually improve standards within Enbridge and across the industry.

  • Collaborate with corrosion prevention specialists, PI Planning, and Risk teams to streamline workflows, boost efficiency, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Mentor junior and intermediate team members, offering technical guidance and expert review of their work.

Who you are:

You have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of directly related experience.

  • Professional Engineer designation (in Canada).

  • Working knowledge of the oil and gas industry, pipeline operations, corrosion science, cathodic protection design and operation, coating systems, flow modelling, research and development, internal corrosion, product quality, laboratory methods, pipeline regulations, and project management.

  • Minimum NACE certified CP III or demonstrated equivalent.

  • Minimum NACE Level II CIP or demonstrated equivalent.

  • An excellent communication skillset to build collaborative relationships, influence and engage others.

  • Valid Passport and eligible to travel throughout North America.

You can:

  • Create innovative, strategic solutions to complex corrosion related problems affecting multiple business units.

Preferred assets:

  • Working knowledge of coatings, microbiologically influenced corrosion, AC influenced corrosion, cathodic protection diagnostic testing, and laboratory test methods

  • NACE CP IV Specialist

  • Experience with Maximo, Power BI and SharePoint

  • Proficiency using American Innovations PCS

  • Informal leadership skills: coaching, mentoring, collaboration and conflict resolution

  • Ability to delegate and leverage others to deliver results

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based with some travel to field projects, regional offices and industry conferences

  • Requires handling situations to meet urgent internal reporting deadlines, coordinating high levels of activity in short time frames, and/or providing support to incident response activities where applicable.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
