Job Summary

Under general supervision this position is the primary parking enforcement personnel for Denver Health. Duties include, but are not limited to, parking enforcement and management, customer service, vehicle traffic control, and other duties necessary in support of Denver Health's and parking overall mission. This role also provides backup support to the Parking Supervisor for daily interactions with staff and families for parking questions, issuance of garage access and other parking related concerns, as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for enforcement of parking rules and regulations, traffic flow and management on Denver Health's property, maintenance of parking equipment and property, and event parking management. (30%)
  • Enter and retrieve information pertaining to vehicle registration, identification, and parking credential status, using parking computer programs. Using License Plate Recognition equipment, reviews vehicles parked on campus for fee compliance. (30%)
  • Patrol an assigned area by vehicle or on foot to ensure public compliance with existing parking regulations. When vehicles are not in compliance of established parking regulations issues warnings and citations to violators (as needed). Installs vehicle immobilization equipment to those vehicles deemed to have committed chronic rule infractions. (30%)
  • Assists with the administrative operations of the Parking Services Department. These duties may include selling permits, file and records management, and/or any other duties that may be assigned. (10%)

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Work Experience:

  • One (1) year professional customer service experience.
  • The experience listed must clearly demonstrate interacting with the public in person required

Licenses:

  • DLR-Colorado Driver's License Class R - DMV - Department of Motor Vehicles required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone, email, and personal contact.
  • Must have intermediate computer skills, including experience with Windows-based applications, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Thorough knowledge of simple set-up, adjustment, and operational procedures of work-related parking equipment.
  • Ability to complete specialized training in regard to parking equipment and operations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to the client, manager, or customer questions.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to maintain composure when dealing with angry or irate customers.
