What to Expect
We are seeking an experienced Material Planner to join our dynamic supply chain team, focusing on PCBAs and electronic components. The ideal candidate will focus on PCBAs and electronic components, should have a strong background in contract manufacturing environments, ensuring efficient material planning, inventory management, and supply chain optimization. This role involves collaborating with engineering, design, production and procurement teams to support product life cycle management, handle engineering changes, and manage clear-to-build and run-out analysis. This role involves daily management of supply and constraints, status reporting and escalation, supplier engagement, and the relentless pursuit of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Ensure correct demand is system driven and properly communicated to external and internal suppliers.Responsible to conduct clear-to-build analyses to ensure all materials, components, and resources are available and in alignment with production build plan, identifying, owning and resolving any bottlenecks in advance
- Develop and maintain material requirement plans for PCBAs and electronic components, manage inventory levels, and minimize shortages or inventory excess
- Manage product life cycle processes, including phase-in/phase-out strategies for components, obsolescence planning, and end-of-life (EOL) management to support seamless transitions
- Coordinate engineering changes by assessing impacts on material availability, work along with the PM on updating BOMs (Bills of Materials), and adjusting procurement plans in alignment with cross functional teams
- Maintain commits for contract manufacturing vendors, analyzing their production capabilities, lead times, and constraints to ensure continuous supply.Communicate and mitigate risks in the supply chain, such as supplier delays or component shortages
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including ERP system enhancements and supply chain process improvement to streamline material planning processes.Support cross-functional teams in new product introductions (NPIs), ensuring material readiness from prototype to full-scale production
- Develop, Track and Report KPI's to cross functional teams such as CTB, DOH, Inventory Excess, Obsolescence.Own end-to-end data integrity in system to ensure accurate demand is being transmitted to vendors
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience as a Material Planner or similar role in electronics manufacturing, with a focus on PCBAs and contract manufacturing environments
- Proven expertise in MRP/ERP systems for supply chain
- Strong skills in product life cycle management, including handling component obsolescence and EOL transitions
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in clear-to-build processes and run-out reports
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting
