DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Field Investigator, your primary responsibilities will involve conducting thorough investigations into furlough cases and performing comprehensive criminal background checks on all individuals sponsoring furloughs. In this role, you will be tasked with maintaining detailed case files, drafting written reports, and composing formal correspondence to judges and correctional facilities that includes critical investigative findings. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping an accurate logbook and reaching out to various agencies to gather information regarding any potential issues related to the re-entrant's furlough application. Your keen observational skills will be essential in identifying areas of concern, and you will be expected to provide valuable insights to your colleagues regarding furlough decisions. Furthermore, it is imperative that you report any unusual, threatening, or non-compliant behaviors or situations that may arise during your investigations, ensuring the safety and integrity of the furlough process.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hour work week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days per week upon successful completion of training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Jenkintown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in public contact work, including two years of experience in field investigation or law enforcement work; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
