Job Description
Primary Purpose Coordinates gas transmission system operations, construction and/or maintenance of facilities, pipelines and compressors as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines in the Gas Transmission function. Calculates and controls the flow of natural gas through the system to maintain volume and pressure for an adequate supply. Ensures receipt and delivery of gas from one point to another within the system and from outside systems. Monitors telemetric instruments to determine gas pressure, volume and consumption. Reviews supply-and-demand data such as gas quality, pressure, weather conditions and time of day to forecast load adjustment. Ensures operational compliance with all gas transmission regulations.
Develops and implements operational strategies that optimize system reliability, safety, and efficiency. Aligns resources and processes with organizational objectives while managing risk and compliance requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages crisis communications and incident investigations to ensure transparent reporting and accountability.
- Ensures construction activities are executed safely, with minimal disruption to stakeholders and strong environmental stewardship.
- Manages permitting processes and right-of-way adherence for both existing and future pipeline infrastructure projects.
- Designs and implements maintenance programs grounded in risk assessment, ensuring alignment with local, national, and international gas transmission standards.
- Manages cross-functional projects to improve gas flow, system reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Provides guidance, oversight, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing and safety-focused workforce.
- Defines and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess system efficiency, maintenance outcomes, and infrastructure reliability.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Education
- Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience
- Typically requires 8 years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Gas Engineering - Design and advise on smooth and safe supply or utilization of gas, including the development, construction, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of gas and gas-related technology.
- Transmission Operations Management - Monitoring and controlling the flow of electricity through transmission systems, maintaining system reliability, coordinating with other stakeholders, and responding to operational issues or emergencies.
- Gas Flow Analysis - Evaluate and optimize gas flow within pipeline systems to ensure efficient transportation and distribution. This involves analyzing pressure, volume, and temperature data to identify and resolve bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
- Transmission Maintenance Management - The management and oversight of maintenance activities related to transmission systems, such as power lines, substations, and other infrastructure, ensuring that maintenance tasks are performed efficiently and in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance - Ensuring an organization's adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Management - The systematic approach to maintain health and safety at occupation and protect the environment.
- Corrosion Control - Implementing processes and methods of combating corrosion by protecting metals against corrosion.
- Emergency Response Management - The coordination and management of resources and responsibilities pertaining to the mitigation of, preparedness for, response to, and recovery from an emergency.
- Demand Forecasting - Estimating the quantity of goods and services the organization realistically expects sell over the forecast period.
- Inspection Management - A critical process of quality control that involves measuring, examining, and reviewing materials against standard requirements to ensure materials or components conform to the standards and latest guidelines.
Work Schedule
OFFICE: Work onsite at a company facility due to the nature of the duties and responsibilities of the position.

$145,500.00 - $229,500.00 / year
