POSITION SUMMARY

The Technology Quality Assurance Specialist is an experienced software testing professional responsible for ensuring solutions perform at a level of excellence that meet business and client requirements.

This role involves designing, executing, and monitoring test plans to validate critical functionality, promptly address issues, and support successful adoption and performance of implemented solutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyzes and interprets requirements and design to ensure they are clear and testable.
  • Develops testing scenarios, maintains and executes detailed testing plans and test cases to ensure coverage of functional requirements with guidance from subject matter experts, QA team leader, and management.
  • Performs functional, regression, and integration testing for complex system implementations, upgrades, and scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Documents and reports identified defects, while providing comprehensive feedback on product performance, functionality, and usability.
  • Assists with defect tracking, troubleshooting, and coordinating issue resolution with internal teams and external product or vendor partners.
  • Assists with identifying usability related issues due to user interface and design.
  • Maintains timely updates to work items including level of testing effort, duration, and planned finish dates.
  • May act as a point of contact with internal teams (Project Management; Applications and Data Management; Training; Operations; Technical Support) for system upgrades and releases, user acceptance testing, and product functional and performance review.
  • Assists with maintaining the QA tool sets and database of defects, including issues tracker lists.
  • Assists in the development, execution, and maintenance of automated functional tests.
  • Applies best practice QA methodologies, tools and processes assisting in the continual performance enhancement of key work processes and deliverables.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5 + years of experience in Information Technology required.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality assurance and testing methodologies required.
  • Prior experience working with legal industry tools and solutions preferred.
  • Must live within a commutable distance to the firm office with the ability to come into the office 3-4 days per week.

COMPETENCIES

  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and concepts.
  • Requires demonstrated experience in documentation practices and standards.
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks and scripting languages is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to assess issues within a broader organizational context while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and with all levels of staff.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor while demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure while meeting tight schedules and deadlines.
  • Ability to provide accurate time estimates based on documented requirements and available testing capacity.
  • Experience with legal industry tools and solutions such as iManage, Litera and IntApp products.
  • Experience with Team collaboration tools such as MS Teams and Smartsheet.
  • Working experience with development, applications support, and customer support teams.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, when necessary, particularly during monthly desktop and server patching cycles.

SALARY

Illinois based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $85,000 - $111,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, market data and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
