We are looking for aService Offering Manager, Continuous Monitoring Systems to join our Vaisala Global Service team in our Burlington, Massachusetts office. What's your role?

You will be part of our global service line team of energetic and experienced professionals. Together with the team, you will have an excellent opportunity to drive the development, commercialization, and lifecycle management of service offerings and solutions for Vaisala's Industrial Instruments globally, to take business ownership, drive service growth and track performance of your own portfolio. You will serve as a member of Vaisala Industrial Measurements Service Line Leadership Team, ensuring that customer needs are translated into innovative, high-value service offerings, supporting the growth and profitability of the business. In this role you will be working in close co-operation with sales, service delivery, marketing, product managers, and R&D. You will report to the Director, Service Line.

Key responsibilities:

Customer Engagement & Market Insight



  • Proactively interact with customers, partners, sales and regional business development managers to understand and anticipate industry specific needs for industrial instrument life cycle services
  • Monitor closely competitors and their offerings including other instrument companies as well as pure play resellers & service providers


  • Conduct market studies to identify trends, opportunities, and gaps in current offering


  • Lead cross-functional taskforces, driving pilot selling and go-to-market activities


  • Tailor solutions for specific sales cases and provide sales support within own portfolio


  • Champion customer-centric service design by leveraging feedback, usage data, and field insights to ensure services remain competitive and high-value



Offering Development & Stakeholder Management



  • Hold commercial responsibility for service offerings including revenue build and offering profitability, drive end-to-end development and launch of service solutions, translating customer demand and business objectives into profitable offerings
  • Lead GTM strategy, craft compelling marketing messaging, and enable regional sales teams through effective rollout and training


  • Partner with regional sales, service leaders and business lines to build powerful sales plays, value propositions, and digital sales tools for service offerings


  • Align and collaborate with the Industrial Instruments Business Line to come up with customer segment- based service offerings


  • Articulate compelling value-selling argumentation of service offerings including creation of corresponding material to support sales, marketing and customer interaction


  • Monitor results, manage performance with regional sales leaders and business line leaders


  • Set prices for service offerings and drive intelligent pricing management both from global perspectives as well as for industry/market/country specific needs


  • Influence senior stakeholders on investment priorities, resourcing, and service commercialization pathways


  • Prepare and own the solution development plan, coordinating with Business Units (BUs), Marketing, and regional service delivery teams


  • Serve as a core member of the CMS BL Leadership Team (LT) and participate as the responsible Service Offering Manager in CMS R&D projects, e.g., prepare business cases and represent service in Business Reviews


  • Oversee item maintenance for service offerings within scope



What will you bring?




  • Strong track record and 7+ years' proven experience in end-to-end service offering and portfolio management responsibilities in global competitive B2B environment
  • Experience in SaaS, DaaS, managed service agreements and recurring revenue models are considered as strong assets
  • Strong customer orientation with demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into business and service solutions
  • Proficiency in developing business cases, conducting competitive analysis, and prioritizing service features based on customer and market needs
  • Experience in at least one of the core industries such as HVAC, data center, semiconductor, or batteryis a strong advantage
  • Experience setting global pricing frameworks, adapting to regional differences, and applying value-based pricing to maximize profitability
  • Strategic thinker with excellent project management and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to perform market studies and business case evaluations
  • Effective communicator, able to manage complexity, work and lead effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment
  • Able to drive alignment with executives and equip commercial teams to position premium service value
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 30% of the time
  • Master's degree in engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage



ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: $115,000 - 135,000 annually with our STI bonus plan. Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, we offer our employees a competitive benefits package which is outlined below. The recruitment processconsists of 2 or 3 meetings, including a discussion with the team members.
