The Clinical Research Budget & Coverage Analyst provides expert-level financial and reimbursement oversight for oncology clinical trials across the full study lifecycle, with primary responsibility for clinical trial calendar development, Medicare Coverage Analyses (MCAs) and clinical trial budget development, negotiation, and maintenance. The incumbent ensures that trial budgets accurately reflect protocol requirements, comply with federal and payer regulations, and support the financial sustainability of the clinical research enterprise.
This position serves as a subject matter expert for CMS coverage rules, payer requirements, and clinical trial budgeting strategy.
This role partners closely with investigators, clinical research leadership, regulatory teams, finance staff, and external sponsors to guide trials from feasibility through closeout. The incumbent provides strategic oversight, quality review, and complex problem-solving for MCA determinations and budget decisions that have material financial impact. #CA-SB

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- High School graduation or GED equivalent and/or equivalent experience/training and/or demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a relevant role in a clinical research setting.
- Excellent research and investigative skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Skills and abilities to comprehend and interpret scientific and medical literature for utilization in assessment of appropriate billing policy.
- Strong combination of analytical, technical, clinical, mathematical, financial and leadership skills, plus demonstrated excellent organizational skills and the willingness to assume responsibility readily.
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with a wide diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to maintain independent judgment.
- Strong organization and communication skills; and a customer service focus across broad and diverse subject areas.
- Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet (Excel) and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management, clinical research administration (Oncore preferred) and financial reports.
- Demonstrated skills using advanced features in software programs and technological tools to analyze and solve difficult problems with multiple variables.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in the finance, sciences or health related field.
- Experience developing MCA and study budgets within a clinical research site setting.
